Welcome To Genue!

Ode to Matisse

Welcome to Genue!

Inspired by you… Created by you… Genuinely you…

A favorite artist of mine is Henri Matisse. Matisse was born to a family of weavers and grew up in the textile town of Bohain-en-Vermandois, France. His upbringing and beautiful tapestries, rugs, and other patterned goods from around the world inspired his work. Matisse’s love for pattern, and pattern within pattern, is one of the aspects I love most about his art. One reason I invented the Genue software was to cultivate this unique and artistic expression in a technological world. So, I hope you will take the time to appreciate all the beautiful patterns in the world, and like Henri Matisse, may be inspired to create some of them.

Drawing is like making an expressive gesture with the advantage of permanence.  -Henri Matisse

So continuing with the French reference, this is how you pronounce Genue. – The ‘Ge’ in “Genue” is pronounced like the ‘ge’ in garage or the ‘jeu’ in the French word “jeune”. The ‘n’ is pronounced as you would in English. The vowel sound ‘ue’ in “Genue” is closest to sounding like ‘oo’ in the word “boo” or rhyming with the English word “new”, hence “Genue” is pronounced ‘Jeu-new’.

The best way to understand Genue is to try it!

So ready... GIVE IT A TRY
