Pet Bowls by Sandbox Ceramics

As the number of young, single people living alone goes up in the U.S., we are adopting pets at a quicker rate than previous generations. We love our animals–our fur babies–and there’s just no way to get around it. So it makes sense that this current pet-obsessed generation has come up with an assortment of ways to pamper our animals like never before. From artisanal (and beautiful) pet bowls to homemade treats and handmade toys, we have rounded up some of the best products, recipes, and DIYs for our beloved furry family members.

Sandbox Ceramics is a small handmade ceramics line out of the Pacific Northwest. They offer a variety of beautiful, minimalistic vessels from coffee cups to planters, but this pet bowl, in particular, caught my attention. I love that it is so simple, clean and the contemporary colors used! While I do not have pets personally, I have a serious coffee addiction and can attest to the quality of Sandbox Ceramic’s coffee mugs from first-hand experience.

If you’re looking for a DIY instead, I think both of these DIY toys from Hallmark are absolutely adorable. Simple, modern, and easy to make! Either for your own fur baby or maybe a fur niece or nephew? Would you choose the caterpillar, or the jellyfish?!

What if you need a new way to hire a dog walker? More and more, there are dog walker apps. From Wag! to Rover, if you live in a metropolitan area, and want daily diaries, pictures, and notes from your dog walker, then you are in luck! Even though I’ll admit some of it seems a bit overkill, I do love the convenience of an app for almost anything, and I don’t see why hiring a dog walker would be any different.

While we’re on the subject of pet health and wellness, let’s talk food. Pet food has evolved tremendously in the last few years. As we are becoming more health conscious, it seems we are also more aware of what we’re feeding our pets. There are big names like Blue Buffalo, Fresh Pet, and Wysong (what we used to feed my childhood dog), there are also quick and fun recipes that you can make in your kitchen. This homemade dog treat recipe from Pinch of Yum only used seven real ingredients, which I think is pretty cool!

Now, last but definitely not least, this is just a purely fun and hilarious article about a cat in some homemade wigs. I have threatened to do this to my friend’s deeply beloved cat on a few occasions, but so far inspiration hasn’t struck me at the right moment. But, really, what is more whimsical than a cat in a wig? Not much, let me tell you.

The best way to understand Genue is to try it!
